Racer, Instructor, and Lifelong Learner
Patrick is a lifelong racing enthusiast and certified MSF2 Instructor. His passion for speed began early—so early that his first “race” was barreling down steep hills on a tricycle, ending in both victory and his first set of stitches. Instead of discouraging him, that rite of passage taught him two lessons that remain at the core of his journey today: the thrill of competition and the importance of safety.
Two Wheels and Karting
Patrick explored motorcycle racing, carving lines at legendary West Coast tracks such as Laguna Seca, Sonoma, Thunderhill, Willow Springs, and Reno. In parallel he sharpened his skills in karting leagues around the world—indoors and outdoors across France (Kart’in), San Francisco (GoKart Racer), Boston (F1 Boston), Mt. Kisco, NY (Grand Prix New York), Brookfield, CT (On Track), and Cuddebackville, NY (Oakland Valley Race Park). Each track added a new layer of experience, strategy, and respect for the sport. While he is now competing in 4-wheel formats, he still keeps a 2-wheeler in the garage to ride around town on sunny days.
Endurance Competition Mindset
What truly defined Patrick’s path was endurance racing. He dedicated countless hours to events with Endurance Karting (Charlotte 24, Daytona 24, NOLA 24, Bushnell 24, Lime Rock Park, Monticello, OVRP, NJMP, Stafford), the Simcraft 24 at Orlando Kart Center, and the GoPro Motorplex 12+ in Mooresville, NC. Competing at regional and national levels, Patrick consistently achieved top results, including multiple first-place finishes in a row. He still competes in some of these events with his children hoping these are their first steps into a long journey in the sport.
Most of his racing is with American Endurance Racing, ChampCar, and the World Racing League. He quickly became a frequent podium finisher in multi-class formats, applying the strategy, precision, and resilience learned in his karting years. Now based on the East Coast, his playground includes Lime Rock Park, Thompson, NJMP (Thunderbolt & Lightning), Summit Point, Watkins Glen, Monticello, Palmer, Pocono, and Daytona—plus frequent visits to Mid-Ohio, Pitt Race, Indianapolis, Nelson Ledges, VIR, AMP, NCM, Road Atlanta, Road America, Barber, and COTA.
What’s Next?
Through it all, Patrick’s approach remains the same: race hard, race safe, and never stop learning and give back to the sport. Whether helping students achieve their goals, competing with friends, or chasing new challenges, he sees racing as more than just speed—it’s about growth, camaraderie, and the joy of the journey.
See you at the track!
